The school district is building new classrooms in order to accommodate the new students. Part of the reason for the booming population is that families want to live in beautiful suburbs of Allen, Plano, McKinney, and Parker. Another reason is that people are attracted to the lower real estate prices in the area.

Another reason people appreciate this area is that parents want to send their kids to a good school and the Allen ISD is one of the best in Texas.

In fact, Niche rated it as the top school district in Collin County.  It ranks high in all metrics including academics, teachers, diversity, clubs and activities, safety, and college preparation. It’s also one of the top five school districts in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex area and one of the top 10 in the whole state.

For elementary education, the top-rated institutions are Frances E. Norton Elementary School, George J. Anderson Elementary School, James and Margie Marion Elementary School, David and Lynda Olson Elementary School, Mary Evans Elementary School, Beverly Cheatham Elementary School, and Kerr Elementary School.

For middle school, you have Walter & Lois Curtis Middle School, W E Pete-Ford Middle School, Alvis C. Story, and Ereckson Middle School.

Students can continue their high school education in top-rated institutions in the Allen ISD such as Lowery Freshman Center, Allen High School, and the Pat Dillard Special Achievement Center.

The schools are supported nicely by the school district. You won’t find dilapidated buildings and the teachers are especially proud of their work. This gives helps give the students a sense of pride for being a part of the Allen ISD.

The school district has a special program to combat bullying and any incident won’t be tolerated. There are several school and sports activities that help produce well-rounded students who excel at more than just academics.

The schools in Allen ISD have a great program for children to help them learn and focus on their tasks. Students are also held accountable for any mistakes, and the teachers look for teaching opportunities to help students know that each action has a corresponding consequence.

All appropriate efforts are aptly recognized and rewarded. The teachers and school administrators closely supervise the development of students. Students who have special needs are also integrated into the curriculum, placing particular focus on helping students maintain their independence while also developing their social lives.

The high schools really prepare students by offering several programs for future IT programmers, teachers, nurses, and professionals. The mathematics program of the Allen High School is especially noteworthy as the calculus class scored an average of 4.7 out of 5.

In 2018, the Allen ISD was graded A by the Texas Education Agency, and that’s the top rating given to a school district in the state.

Meanwhile, the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STARR) score for Allen ISD in 2018 was 93. To get to the score, the evaluators factor in the students’ scores on tests according to the grade level, as well as the approaching grade. They weigh the total score with other schools in the Texas public school system. It also helps the parents see the scholastic level of their kids as their education progresses.

Of the schools in the Allen ISD, only one campus scored between 70 and 79, the others were rated as excellent or good.

The schools are very diverse, which should give your kids plenty of opportunities to be exposed to other cultures. As they say, what you learn in life goes beyond the four corners of the classroom. Your children get the opportunity to expand their horizons by experiencing different cultures and traditions other than their own. The world is a very interesting and diverse place and it’s theirs to explore.

About Allen, TX

The main city being served by Allen Independent School District is Allen. It’s a big city of around 100,000 residents or so. It’s also considered to be one of the best suburbs in Texas.

Apart from the great public school system, people move here because of the peace and order. Crime is very low and you can generally walk around at night feeling pretty secure about your safety.

There are plenty of parks that offer a nice refuge to students, workers, families, and professionals. On weekends, you can see a lot of families there, as well as people who are out and about getting some exercise.

The city is still growing as you can see from all the construction activities around. But the city planners seem to know what they are doing as they try to maintain a perfect balance of progress and keeping the rural atmosphere. It’s easy to see the contrast between the new buildings and the wide ranches and mature trees in Allen.

The best thing is that the housing market in Allen is still quite affordable, ranging from $300,000 to $400,000. The houses are sitting on large lots so you have plenty of privacy, but are still close enough to your neighbors to build a relationship if that’s what you want. However, the residents here are very friendly and welcoming. You will most likely really feel right at home as you walk around the city and you most people tend to be to be very accommodating.

The city is being served by the DART system so public transportation is easily accessible. If people want to take a break from driving in traffic or save some wear and tear on their vehicles by using public transportation, it is definitely available.
